Meet Livi Crawford, Our Lincoln-Douglas Value Debate Coach

Livi Crawford is a Stoa alum who competed with CONTROL speech and debate club in San Diego, California. She competed in Lincoln Douglas and Parliamentary debate during her time in Stoa and attended NITOC in 2023. She also competed in speech events such as persuasive, original oratory, impromptu, apologetics, and all kinds of interpretations. After 12 years of homeschooling, she graduated from Heritage Christian School San Diego with achievements from the HCS music club and a member of the National Home School Honor Society.

Livi is currently studying at Belmont University as a music therapy major with a concentration in commercial saxophone and a minor in neuroscience. When she graduates, she plans to complete her music therapy internship, become a board certified music therapist, and eventually pursue a Masters degree in speech language pathology to work with kids in special education.

Livi’s experience with LD debate has helped in her college career as she understands value-centric arguments and clear communication in discussions of real world events. In her debate experience, Livi has thoroughly enjoyed studying philosophy and ethics through a Biblical worldview. She hopes to foster this same enjoyment and appreciation in the students she works with.
