Meet Jacob Myhre, our Senior Varsity Novice/Beginners Team Policy Coach
Jacob began his journey in the world of speech and debate as a member of the Momentum Club competing in both NCFCA before Stoa existed and then in Stoa. His first debate competition was at age 12, where with his TP partner, they were the youngest team to win their first major tournament. He and his TP partner debated both in TP and Parli, earning 8th place nationally in Parli. He discovered a passion of this activity that extended into his college years.
As a junior in high school he was invited to debate at the collegiate level, where the next year, as a high school senior, he won 1st place in a collegiate level debate tournament.
He attributes his debate experience to not only sharpening his critical thinking and public speaking skills but also igniting a keen interest in the law. Pursuing this interest, Jacob has just completed law school, where he deepened his understanding of legal principles and honed his skills in legal writing and analysis.
Today, Jacob works as a paralegal, where he navigates the complexities of legal documentation and supports attorneys in delivering thorough and effective legal services to clients.
